THIS WEEK IN WAC WOMEN'S TENNIS
KANSAS CITY
The Roos fell in a 0-4 decision to Wichita State but answered the following day with a 4-3 victory over Drake. In the win, Katie Fries, Riddhi Sharma, and Thea Dassy topped their opponents in straight sets. Kansas City won as Drake had to forfeit the No. 6 singles spot.
 
NM STATE
The Aggies ended the week with a 2-1 record. They lost to Arizona State 0-4 but defeated Mesa Community College and Paradise Valley Community College 4-0 and 7-0, respectively.
 
SEATTLE U
Seattle U dropped a match to Cal State Fullerton, 0-7.
 
2019 WAC TOURNAMENT
The 2019 WAC Men's and Women's Tennis Tournaments will be hosted by UT Rio Grande Valley on April 26-28 in Brownsville, Texas. All six teams will compete in the Tournament as the first round will be No. 4 seed against No. 5 seed and No. 3 seed takes on No. 6 seed. No. 1 and No. 2 seeds earn a ticket straight to the semifinals. The winner of the tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as the WAC representative. The reigning tournament champion is Kansas City as they defeated UT Rio Grande Valley 4-0 in the Championship match last year.
 
NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2019 Tennis National Championships will take place in Orlando, Fla. at the USTA National Campus Collegiate Center on May 16-25.
