WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: FEB 5-FEB. 11
NM State's MacKinna Hauff has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Diver of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 5-11.
 
Hauff, a senior from Edmonton, Canada, placed best in the 1-meter dive against Grand Canyon. Hauff tallied 270.38 points to earn gold. She also took third on the 3-meter with 288.68 points. The Aggies defeated Grand Canyon in the dual, 176-109.
 
Other diver nominees: Menna El-Midany of Grand Canyon placed first on the 3-meter and third in the 1-meter.
 
THIS WEEK IN WAC SWIMMING AND DIVING
GRAND CANYON
The Lopes fell to NM State 176-109. Emily Muteti won the 50 freestyle in 23.77 seconds and also finished second in the 100 butterfly. Roaia Mashaly followed suit winning the 200 freestyle (1:53.32) and taking second in the 100 freestyle. Diana Jaruseviciute finished best in the 200 medley relay clocking in at 2:11.34. On dives, Menna El-Midany won the 3-meter with a score of 300.
 
NM STATE
The Aggies defeated Grand Canyon 176-109. NM State kicked off the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. Moana Houde-Camirand followed with a win in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:34.81. Reagan Nentwich won the 100 backstroke (56.39) and Hanna McGowan took first in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.19). Katherine Harston, Mikalea Miele, and Rachel Langone finished one-two-three in the 200 butterfly. Neza Kocijan won the 50 freestyle (24.25) and Lauren Hemburrow took gold in the 100 freestyle (52.94). MacKinna Hauff rounded out the wins finishing best on the 1-meter dive with 270.38 points.
