WAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week Announced

DENVER –Seattle U's Declan McGlynn and Josh Adachi have been named Western Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for Sept. 17 - 23.

McGlynn, a freshman forward from Kirkland, Wash. (Lake Washington HS), led the Redhawks to a pair of big wins on the road. On Wednesday, he scored once and assisted on two others in a 4-0 win at San Diego to cap off a three-game California road trip. Returning to the Emerald City, he made the most of his first match against rival Washington, scoring an insurance goal in the 83rd minute to help the Redhawks earn a second-straight victory over the 16th-ranked Huskies. Earlier this month, McGlynn scored the game-winning goal for the U.S. U-19 Men's National Team in the final match of the U-20 Men's Invitational.

Adachi, a senior goalkeeper from Pearl City, Hawai'i (Iolani' HS), earned a pair of shutouts to help lead the Redhawks to a 2-0 week on the road. At San Diego, he directed a strong defense that didn't allow a shot on goal to help him earn the clean sheet. He had to work a little harder on Sunday night at Washington, making four saves to preserve the shutout as the Redhawks earned a 2-0 win over the 16th-ranked Huskies.
