Utah Valley senior guard TJ Washington has been named Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 18-24. This is his first-ever WAC Player of the Week honor.

The Tulsa, Okla. native averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last week. He opened the week with a then career-high 22 points as he led Utah Valley's comeback from 16 points down at No. 9 Kentucky to cut the lead to just one point, 67-68, with 3:26 to go before eventually falling 74-68. Washington also added five rebounds and five assists against the Wildcats. He then scored 10 points with three rebounds and two assists in a loss to Lamar last Thursday. Washington capped the week by scoring a career-high 26 points in a 68-62 road win at North Dakota State in the Summit League/WAC Challenge. He also grabbed a career-high nine rebounds in the victory.

Other nominees included: California Baptist's De'jon Davis averaged 17.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game as the Lancers went 1-1 on the week ... Justin McCall of CSU Bakersfield averaged 10.0 points on 67 percent shooting and 2.7 rebounds per game last week ... Chicago State's Jace Colley averaged 16.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game ... Carlos Johnson of Grand Canyon averaged 20.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game on the week ... Kansas City's Rob Whitfield averaged 13.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals as the Roos went 3-1 on the week.

Turnovers (27) proved costly for CSU Bakersfield, which fell on the road against 8th-ranked Gonzaga, 77-49, despite out-rebounding the Bulldogs 37-27 ... GCU's Alessandro Lever had 19 points and 10 rebounds against Fordham for his fourth career double-double and first this season ... The Wolverines have been hit by the injury bug as the team dressed just eight players in a win at North Dakota State ... CBU's De'jon Davis was named to the 2K Empire Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging a team-best 17.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game ... Kansas City's Rob Whitfield was named to The Islands of the Bahamas Showcase All-Tournament Team after scoring a career-high 29 points vs. East Carolina and tying the most three-pointers for a Roo in that game since he had seven in December of 2018 ... Kansas City posted a three-game win streak, the longest in two years. GCU's Lever had the second-most first-half points of his career (18) in the win over UAPB ... UTRGV's Jordan Jackson earned all-tournament team honors at the Islander Invitational after averaging 19.0 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game ... Seattle U's Myles Carter poured in a career-high 37 points on 11-of-12 shooting and 15-of-17 from the free throw line against Pacific (Ore.). He also matched his career high with 15 rebounds in the game ... Kansas City's Brandon McKissic scored a career-high 27 points in win against Avila, including 23 in the first half ... Against Western New Mexico, NM State's Jabari Rice topped his career-high in points before the first half came to a close and ended the night with a team-high 21 points ... Utah Valley's Isaiah White scored a career-high 25 points with a career-high 13 rebounds for his first-ever double-double against Westminster ... CSU Bakersfield's Shawn Stith racked up 26 points and eight boards against South Dakota State. He got to the free throw line 25 times and sank 22 of his attempts ... Seattle U's Terrell Brown was just shy of a triple double with a 16-point, 8-rebound, 9-assist effort against Pacific Lutheran. He then scored a career-high 31 points against Eastern Washington on Nov. 9 for the first 30-point game by a Redhawk since Dec. 4, 2017 ... in UTRGV's loss to South Dakota State, Javon Levi had four steals, as many steals as the entire SDSU team.

Kansas City leads the WAC in scoring defense (61.4), scoring margin (10.0), field goal percentage (45.5), field goal percentage defense (40.0), assists (14.9) and steals (10.1), while CSU Bakersfield is tops in rebounding (40.5), rebounding margin (9.5) and offensive rebounds (14.0). UT Rio Grande Valley leads the WAC in three-point field goal percentage (37.6), turnover margin (7.3), assist-turnover ratio (1.3), while Utah Valley is tops in blocks (6.4) and defensive rebounds (29.1) and is tied with Seattle U for the lead in three-point field goal percentage (28.6). The Redhawks also lead the WAC in free throw percentage (79.8), while California Baptist is tops in scoring (80.8) and three-pointers per game (11.0). Meanwhile, NM State leads the WAC in rebounding defense (27.3).

Individually, Seattle U's Terrell Brown leads the WAC in scoring (22.7), while California Baptist's De'jon Davis is tops in rebounding (8.5) and defensive rebounds (6.3). CBU's Omar Lo leads the WAC in field goal percentage (90.9), while teammate Ferron Flavors Jr. is tops in three-pointers per game (3.5). UTRGV's Javon Levi leads the league in assists (7.3), steals (4.0) and assist-turnover ratio (3.7), while teammate Connor Raines is tops in three-point field goal percentage (53.8). UVU's Trey Woodbury is tops in free throw percentage (100.0), while teammate Emmanuel Olojakpoke leads the league in blocks (3.0). NM State's Trevelin Queen leads the WAC in offensive rebounds (2.7) and Grand Canyon's Jovan Blacksher Jr. is tops in minutes per game (36.6).

Seattle U head coach Jim Hayford picked up the 400th win of his career on Nov. 12 against Pacific. He is 400-209 (.657) overall and 40-34 in four years at Seattle U.

In the second year of The Summit League/WAC Challenge, things are tied up at one apiece. The Challenge features head-to-head competition between the teams in both leagues. Match-ups were set based upon factors including the previous year's achievements, records and NET rankings, as well as projected rankings in the upcoming season.
