Boise State Broncos (2-2, 0-0 WAC)
The Broncos were idle last week ... Boise State opened its first season with losses to Illinois (8-2) and James Madison (9-1) and wins over Fordham (8-4) and Wisconsin (13-12) at the Cathedral City Kickoff  Feb. 6-8 ... Christina Capobianco had a three-game hit streak that ended when Wisconsin intentionally walked her in her final two at-bats ... Capobianco’s RBI gave Boise State a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth vs. Fordham that it would not relinquish on its way to the program’s first-ever victory ... Aubray Zell picked up the first win in program history with a complete-game win over Fordham ... The Broncos play in the San Diego Tournament this weekend, where they will face Long Beach State, San Diego and Colorado State.

Fresno State Bulldogs (3-1, 0-0 WAC)
The Bulldogs were idle last week after their doubleheader at Pacific was postponed until March 31 due to rain ... With 24 in three appearances this year, Morgan Melloh has 478 career strikeouts, 13 shy of the Fresno State career strikeout list. The school’s all-time record holder is Jamie Southern with 1,321 ... The Bulldogs take on 15 teams who made last year’s NCAA Tournament, three teams from the Women’s College World Series, 12 ranked in the NFCA Preseason Top 25 and three others receiving votes ... The Bulldogs play in the Cathedral City Classic this weekend, where they will face No. 2 Florida, Maryland, No. 21 North Carolina, No. 12 Northwestern and No. 6 UCLA.

Hawai‘i Rainbow Wahine (2-8, 0-0 WAC)
The Rainbow Wahine went 1-4 at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic last weekend, falling to No. 13 Northwestern (6-2), Kentucky (8-0), Oregon (3-2) and UC Davis (8-1), and defeating Saint Louis (8-3) ... Tanisha Milca hit .615 over the five games with a 1.077 slugging percentage and .706 on-base percentage ... With two home runs last week, Milca moved into fifth place on UH’s career list with 24 ... Five of UH’s seven losses this season have come at the hands of ranked teams (No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 13 Northwestern and No. 20 LSU) ... Clare Warwick is hitting .407 and leads the squad with two doubles and seven RBI ... The Rainbow Wahine play in the Cathedral City Classic this weekend, where they will face Maryland, No. 9 Tennessee, Ohio State and No. 1 Alabama.

Louisiana Tech Techsters (2-3, 0-0 WAC)

The Lady Techsters opened the season with a victory over Northwestern State (4-0) last Wednesday before going 1-3 at the Louisiana-Lafayette Tournament over the weekend. There they fell to McNeese State (3-0), Lipscomb (1-0) and No. 19 Louisiana-Lafayette (11-0) before defeating Nicholls State (8-0) ... Meghan Krieg went 1-1 on the week with 0.75 earned run average en route to earning all-tournament honors. She posted 16 strike outs in 12.0 innings, allowing one earned run on seven hits and six walks ... The Techsters host McNeese State for a doubleheader on Tuesday before playing in the Southern Miss Tournament this weekend, where they will face Alabama State, South Alabama, Nicholls State and Southern Miss.

Nevada Wolf Pack (7-2, 0-0 WAC)

The Wolf Pack went 4-1 at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic last weekend, defeating Utah (13-0), Southern Utah (4-2), Portland State (11-2) and UNLV (9-0) and falling to Louisville (3-2) ... Katie Holverson pick up two wins, did not give up an earned run, struck out 16 and walked just three in 17.0 innings of work ... Kelsey Starr hit .467 (7-for-15) with a home run, six runs and five RBI as on the week ... With the win over UNLV, Holverson moved to second place at Nevada in career victories (37) ... Starr has hit safely in all nine games this season ... The Wolf Pack play in the Cathedral City Classic this weekend, where they will face No. 2 Florida, Ohio State, No. 8 Oklahoma, Maryland and UC Santa Barbara.

New Mexico State Aggies (10-2, 0-0 WAC)
The Aggies went 4-2 at the Troy Cox Classic last weekend, defeating UTEP (10-7), Central Michigan (11-4) and Saint Mary’s twice (17-7, 9-0), and falling to Eastern Illinois twice (4-3, 2-1) ... Hoku Nohara hit .562 with nine RBI, four homers and two doubles and was named to the all-tournament team ... Vanessa Fitzgerald recorded her first shutout victory of the season against SMC and fanned a career-best nine batters against Central Michigan when Fitzgerald recorded a career-best nine strikeouts ... The Aggies’ 10-2 record is the best start in program history ... The Aggies play in the UTEP Invitational this weekend, where they will face Cal State Northridge, UTEP, Samford, Northern Colorado and San Jose State.

San Jose State Spartans (2-3, 0-0 WAC)

The Spartans were idle last week after their single game at UC Davis was postponed due to weather and the Santa Clara Invitational was cancelled ... SJSU opened the season at the Red Desert Classic Feb. 6-8, defeating Idaho State (4-1) and Utah Valley (14-4), but falling to Utah (6-5), No. 12 Tennessee (16-0) and Brigham Young (3-2) ... Brittany McConnell is tied for the San Jose State career mark for RBI (116) and is one home run away from tying the career mark of 27.  Both records are held by Kara Kanney (1996-00) ... The Spartans play in the UTEP Invitational this weekend, where they will face Cal State Northridge, Northern Colorado, New Mexico State, UTEP and Samford.

Utah State Aggies (3-7, 0-0 WAC)

The Aggies went 1-4 at the Campbell Cartier Tournament last weekend, falling to No. 24 San Diego State (3-1), No. 10 Washington (16-3), Long Beach State (8-0) and No. 8 Stanford (9-5), and defeating UC Santa Barbara (6-5) ... Rayna Bradshaw hit her first collegiate home run vs. Stanford ... The Aggies are 0-6 against ranked teams this season, having played six ranked teams in 10 games ... Megan McDonald is the Aggies’ leading hitter with a .296 batting average ... The Aggies have seven home runs this season, including three by catcher Simone Hubbard ... USU is off until Feb. 27, when it competes in the Diamond Devil Invitational, hosted by reigning national champion Arizona State.
