Verizon WAC Menís Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Announced
Richardson, a sophomore from Pride, La. (Northeast HS), ran 10.43 in the 100-meter dash last weekend at the Texas Relays, a time that ranks first in the WAC and 15th in the NCAA East performance list. Richardson also ran the opening leg of the sprint medley relay that ran 3:23.00, a time that is the seventh-fastest sprint medley time in school history.
Blaser, a senior from Meridian, Idaho (University of Louisville), posted a score of 7,035 in the decathlon at the Texas Relays last week. Blaser’s score ranks twelfth in the nation and is just eight points off of his career best. Within the decathlon events, Blaser’s time of 14.40 in the 110-meter hurdles currently leads the WAC, while his pole vault of 16 feet, 0.75 inches (4.90 meters) ranks second, his long jump of 22-9.75 (6.95m) ranks third and his high jump of 6-2.75 (1.90m) ranks fourth.
