Kayla Wartner hit a walk-off solo homer in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Rainbow Wahine a 1-0 win over Fresno State in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday. Kaia Parnaby earned the complete-game win, allowing three hits and posting 10 strikeouts over 11 innings.
No. 14 Hawai‘i 2, Fresno State 0
Stephanie Ricketts threw a no-hitter as the Rainbow Wahine swept the series with a 2-0 win over Fresno State in the finale. Ricketts struck out seven and walked two in posting her second no-no of the season. Wartner and Alex Aguirre both hit solo homers to account for the Hawai‘i runs.
Brigham Young 3, San Jose State 2
Delaney Willard drove in the winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Brigham Young a 3-2 win over San Jose State in the first half of a twinbill Saturday. Tori Almond earned the complete-game win, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out eight. Stacie Toney was 2-for-2 with two RBI to lead the Cougars offensively.
Brigham Young 10, San Jose State 2 (6)
The Cougars rattled off 12 hits in the nightcap, defeating the Spartans 10-2 in six innings. Almond earned her second win of the day, throwing three innings. Willard was 2-for-4 with four RBI was one of four BYU players with multiple hits on the game.
Louisiana Tech 10, Nevada 2 (6)
Louisiana Tech recorded a season-high 16 hits to defeat Nevada 10-2 in six innings in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday. Erin Kipp was 4-for-4 with one RBI, while Dacia Hale was 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBI. Michelle Jones earned the complete-game win.
Nevada 5, Louisiana Tech 0
Karlyn Jones won her eighth straight decision with a five-hit shutout that gave Nevada a 5-0 win over LA Tech in the nightcap. Jones struck out seven and walked one over seven innings. Lauren Lastrapes drove in two runs, while Megan Fincher was 3-for-4.
Utah State 5, New Mexico State 0
Shelbi Tyteca threw a complete-game shutout as Utah State eliminated New Mexico State from contention for the WAC Tournament with a 5-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday. Tyteca scattered five hits and struck out six. Kelley Kaneshiro dorve in three runs to pace USU at the plate.
New Mexico State 7, Utah State 1
In the nightcap, NM State posted 11 hits en route to a 7-1 victory. Sydney Williard earned the win, allowing five hits over four innings. Staci Rodriguez was 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBI.
