Fresno State Falls to North Carolina in NCAA Tournament

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Jaleesa Ross scored her 2,000th career point at the 13:34 mark of the second half as Fresno State fell 82-68 to fifth-seeded North Carolina in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday. The Bulldogs finish the season 25-8.

North Carolina shot 47 percent from the field, 38 percent from three-point range and 76 percent from the free throw line on the game. Fresno State connected on 30 percent from the field, 28 percent from downtown and 75 percent from the charity stripe. The Tar Heels dominated the glass, 50-38.

Hayley Munro led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Ross and Rosie Moult tallied 14 each.

Ross closed out her career with 2,002 points, which ranks third all-time in the WAC, and 389 three-pointers, good for third place all-time in NCAA history.
