Rust, a sophomore from Lakeside, Calif. (El Capitan HS), hit .500 (10-for-20) with five runs scored, two doubles, a triple, a home run, five RBI and one walks as the Aggies went 4-1 on the week with a win over CSU Bakersfield and a three-game series sweep at San Jose State. Rust had 43 putouts, three assists and only one error on defense through his five games last week. In a 12-10 loss at rival New Mexico, Rust went 3-for-5 at the plate with his first home run of the season. He also picked up two RBI at New Mexico. Rust recorded a sacrifice fly in game two at San Jose State to secure a 4-2 win over the Spartans. Rust then finished the week leading the Aggie offense going 4-for-4 at the plate with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI as the Aggies won their regular-season finale 15-2 at SJSU.
Kendall, a senior from Clovis, Calif. (Clovis East HS), pitched a seven-inning run-rule 12-2 victory over Louisiana Tech last week. Kendall came in the game to relieve injured starter Tyler Linehan, who faced only the lead-off batter of the game. Kendal tossed seven strikeouts in 7.0 innings of work without walking a batter. He also allowed no earned runs.
