Verizon WAC Baseball Players of the Week Announced
Karraker, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz. (Pinnacle HS), hit .636 (7-for-11) with seven runs scored, two RBI, two doubles and was walked twice as New Mexico State went 3-1 in a four-game series at Seattle. Karraker finished the week with a .692 on base percentage. In game two of the series, Karraker went 3-for-3 with a double and a season-high four runs scored. In the series finale, he went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to help the Aggies post their 30th win of the season.
Dudley, a sophomore from Texarkana, Texas (Texas HS), held his opponents to a .158 batting average while picking up two save and a win in relief to clinch Louisiana Tech’s first series win against Nevada since 2006. With his eighth save of the season, Dudley moved into a three-way tie for second place on the single-season saves list at Tech. In 5.0 innings of work, Dudley gave up only three hits and didn’t allow a single run. Dudley’s eight saves are the most since Matt Buckle recorded nine saves for Tech and established the school record during the 2000 season. Dudley has a WAC-best 23 appearances this season.
