San Jose State is one of 24 teams playing at the West Regional. The top eight teams advance to the NCAA Championship, May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. The top two individuals, not on an advancing team, also advance to the championship.
Teams participating at the West Regional include UCLA, LSU, North Carolina, Colorado, California, Baylor, Pepperdine, UC Davis, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Tulsa, TCU, Iowa State, Stanford, Denver, UNLV, New Mexico, Oregon State, Illinois, Kennesaw State, San Jose State, Missouri State, Northern Colorado and Jackson State.
"We are excited about the opportunity to continue our season at regionals," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "We improved in each tournament we played at this spring and hope to carry that momentum into the regional. It is an exciting and challenging compete against the nation's best team in postseason action."
Two individuals from the WAC will also compete in the regional. Idaho's Kayla Mortellaro and New Mexico State's Demi Mak earned invites as well. Mortellaro defeated Mak on the fourth hole of a sudden death playoff last month at the WAC women's championship to win the individual title.
