Pulgarin Linero, a sophomore from Barcelona, Spain (IES CAR de Sant Cugat) set a career high in the all-around at Ohio State, compiling a WAC-high 39.425 last weekend. Pulgarin Linero set a career high on bars with a 9.850 and tied career highs on beam (9.850) and floor (9.900). Last Saturday was Pulgarin Linero’s third all-around score of 39.000 or higher, and the fourth of her career.
Martin, a sophomore from Lake Mary, Fla. (Lake Mary HS) scored a 9.925 on vault last Saturday at Ohio State. The vault was Martin’s seventh-career score of 9.900 or better in the event. The Pioneers sophomore is ranked No. 20 in the nation on vault.
Other Gymnast of the Week Nominees: Sacramento State freshman Kalliah McCartney scored a 38.825 in the all-around at Utah State … San Jose State senior Thomasina Wallace won a fourth-straight all-around title with a 39.200 at Boise State … Utah State freshman Sarah Landes won the all-around (39.050) title and tied for the floor crown (9.850) against Sacramento State.
Other Specialist of the Week Nominees: Sacramento State sophomore Kailey Hansen tied for first on floor with a 9.850 at Utah State … Utah State senior Rebecca Holliday won the title on beam with a 9.825 for her third-straight event win against Sacramento State.
