Boise State Broncos (6-3, 2-0 WAC)
The Broncos tied for the 20th-best team total in Boise State gymnastics history with their 195.925 score ... the Broncos captured team wins on vault (49.250), bars (49.175) and floor (49.175), and finished second behind the Spartans on beam with a score of 48.325 ... the team score of 49.250 on vault tied for No. 7 in all-time Boise State team vault scores ... Boise State improves to 6-3 on the season, 2-0 in the WAC.

Cal State Fullerton Titans (0-3, 0-2 WAC)
Cal State Fullerton finished second to defending WAC Champion Southern Utah in the first of three straight home meets on Feb. 11, falling to the T-Birds, 193.000-187.275 … senior Alaina Baker finished third in the all-around with a 37.475, posting her best finish of the night on vault with a 9.65 - good for a fifth-place tie ... junior Taylor Kearns was the Titans’ highest finisher on bars, scoring a season-high 9.525 to finish seventh, while junior Vanessa Klass led the way on beam (9.475).

Sacramento State Hornets (4-4, 1-1 WAC)

Kailey Hansen scored a career high 9.875 to finish first on floor and help Sacramento State defeat Utah State on Friday night ... the meet was tied on three occasions during the final rotation before Hansen stepped onto the floor ... the freshman received a 9.85 from one judge and a 9.900 from the second.

San Jose State Spartans (8-3, 1-1 WAC)
San Jose State scored the second-highest score in school history with a 195.550 this past week to place second in a four-team meet in San Jose ... the Spartans scored a season-best 48.850 on vault, season-best 48.900 on bars (tying for the fifth-best in school history), season-best 48.925 on beam (tying for fifth-best in school history) and a 48.875 on floor .. this week, San Jose State travels to take on WAC foe Southern Utah on Friday.

Southern Utah Thunderbirds  (6-2, 3-0 WAC)

Southern Utah remained undefeated in WAC action with a 193.000 victory over the Cal State Fullerton Titans on Friday night ... he win was highlighted by four individual titles for the T-Birds, including first-place finishes on bars, beam, floor and in the all-around ... Alyssa Click rebounded from a fall last week on bars to secure the event title with a 9.800 .... Brooke Cersosimo won the all-around title with a 38.650 ... this week, SUU hosts Cal State Fullerton.

Utah State Aggies (1-9, 0-3 WAC)
Freshman Paige Jones won the vault title with a season-best 9.825 against Sacramento State, not only a new season-high but also tying senior Lyndsie Boone for the Aggies’ top score on the event this year ... it is USU’s third vault title of the season after Boone’s pair of event wins in the Aggies’ first two meets of the season ... Jones also tied for third on bars with a 9.525, finishing behind fellow freshman teammate Rachel Vaske, who was second with a 9.625.


San Jose State’s Thomasina Wallace and Boise State’s Hailey Gaspar have been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Week and Specialist of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 7-13.

Wallace, a junior from Pomona, Calif. (Charter Oak Gliders) won the all-around title in a quad meet against Boise State, UC Davis and Seattle Pacific with a 39.325. The score is the fourth-best mark in SJSU history. Wallace tied for individual titles on bars (9.900) and beam (9.900). She also added a 9.825 on vault and a 9.700 on floor, helping the Spartans to the second-highest team score (195.550) in school history.

Gaspar, a sophomore from Los Alamitos, Calif. (American Gymnastics Academy) won her first vault competition of the season with a 9.950 at a quad meet against San Jose State, UC Davis and Seattle Pacific. The score ties her career high and ties her for the fifth-best vault mark in school history. Gaspar also tied for second on floor with a 9.875 and tied for sixth on beam with a 9.725.

Tickets for the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Women’s Gymnastics Championships to be held on March 19 are currently on sale through the Spartan Athletics Ticket Office and Ticketmaster.  The championships will be contested at The Event Center on the San Jose State University campus. Fans can choose one of two options for tickets.  Reserved tickets are $10 per adult, while youth 12 and under are $7.  General admission prices are $8 for an adult and $5 for youth 12 and under.  Students from participating institutions with a valid student ID can purchase discounted general admission tickets for $5.  Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Spartan Ticket Office at (408) 924-SJTX (7589) or 1-877-SJSU-TIX (757-8849), visiting the ticket office in person, calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000, visiting select Ticketmaster outlets including the Event Center Box Office or online at www.sjsuspartans.com .Group tickets are available for the championships, but are only sold through the Spartan Athletics Ticket Office.  Groups of 25 or more can purchase reserved seats for $7 each and general admission tickets for $5 each.  Group discounts are only available through 5 p.m. on Friday, March 11.
