"Moriah represented the University of Denver with a tremendous amount of pride this evening," head coach Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart said. "She hit on all four events tonight, and I'm extremely proud of her performance. Her focus, consistency and discipline in training this season paid off with tonight's competition. "
In her first appearance at the NCAA Championships, Martin opened her evening with a 27th-place 9.800 on bars. The Pioneer sophomore would follow that up by matching her career-high on beam, tallying a 9.850 to finish 17th on the event. Martin rounder out her 2012 campaign with a 28th-place 9.800 on floor and a 17th-place 9.850 on vault.
Martin finished second among the six all-arounders that did not qualify with their entire squad. Her beam performance not only tied a career-high, but was 0.075 points higher than her Regional Qualifying Score, and 0.148 points higher than her season average on the event.
University of Florida's Kytra Hunter had the top score in the second session, tallying a 39.725.
