20 WAC Swimmers Earn All-American Honors

DENVER – 20 Western Athletic Conference swimmers were awarded Mid-Major All-America honors, which were announced April 26.

San Jose State junior Marissa DeWames was the only WAC swimmer named as an All-American, after concluding the season with a 33rd-place finish in the 50-meter freestyle and a 42nd-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle at the NCAA Championships in March.

The Spartans, who won the WAC championship this season, had an additional five athletes named honorable mention. New Mexico State and Northern Arizona each had four athletes honored, Hawai’i featured three, Fresno State had two and Nevada had one athlete honored.
