Klahn, ranked No. 36 nationally, defeated Boutillier, ranked No. 27, 6-1, 6-1 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. Boutillier ends his singles season with a 22-4 record.
After Klahn won the first set 6-1, Boutillier came back to take the first game of set No. 2. That was all he would get in the second set, however, as Klahn won the next six to clinch the match.
Boutillier is still alive at the NCAA Championships, as he and partner Francis Alcantara play Thursday at 2:30 p.m. PT in the doubles championships.
Fresno State's 58th-ranked duo is set to face the No. 3 doubles team in the nation of Kevin King and Juan Spir from Georgia Tech.
