Day 4 Results
Jordan Ribera hit a two-run homer in the first game of the day and followed it up with another in the championship as Fresno State defeated New Mexico State 9-7 in game one and 5-3 in the final to claim its fourth-straight WAC Tournament baseball title. Ribera went 2-for-3 in the championship game with two RBI, a home run and two runs scored. Matt Morse picked up the win in the championship after going 2.2 innings without giving up a run. Fresno State receives the WAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Pairings for the tournament will be announced Monday at 12:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Fresno State defeated New Mexico State 9-7 in Sunday's first game, forcing a final championship game, between the two schools which is set for 3:45 p.m. HT. Jordan Ribera led th Bulldogs with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate that included a home run with a pair of RBI that helped clinch the win. Tom Mendonca also had pair of hits with a home run. Holden Sprague was credited with the win on the mound after going 4.1 innings with a pair of strikeouts. Kyle Decater led NM State with two hits and an RBI.
Day 3 Results
No. 1 San Jose State defeated No. 2 Louisiana Tech 14-3 in seven innings on Saturday morning, eliminating LA Tech from the tournament. San Jose State moves on to face No. 4 New Mexico State at 7 p.m. tonight. Kyle Bellows and Corey Valine each recorded three hits for the Spartans. John Shaffer went 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run and a game-high four RBI. Jack Adams recorded the win on the mound after going 5.0 innings with four strikeouts. Adams allowed only five hits on the day.
No. 3 Fresno State defeated No. 5 Hawai‘i 10-3 in the day's second game, eliminating the Rainbows from the tournament. Fresno State advances to Sunday's noon game and will play either San Jose State or New Mexico State. Steve Detwiler went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with two RBI and one run scored for the Bulldogs. Danny Muno led the team with three RBI on the day. Gene Escat was credited with the win for Fresno State after going 1.1 innings with one strikeout. Josh Poytress started the game for Fresno State, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up only one earned run. Vinnie Catricala led Hawai‘i with two hits and an RBI.
No. 4 New Mexico State advances to championship Sunday after defeating No. 1 San Jose State 10-9 on Saturday night, eliminating the Spartans from the tournament. Mike Sodders led New Mexico State with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. Sebastien Vendette was credited with the win on the mound after going 6.1 innings with five strikeouts. Corey Valine led SJSU with three hits on the night.
Day 2 Results
No. 5 Hawai‘i knocked No. 6 Nevada out of tournament play with a 5-4 win in an extra inning of play. With bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 10th inning, Vinnie Catricala hit a fly ball to left field, allowing Kevin Fujii to tag from third for the game-winning run. Catricala led the Rainbows with two hits and a pair of RBI. Kolten Wong also had two hits with two RBI for UH. Nathaniel Klein was credited with the win on the mound for Hawai‘i after pitching 4.0 innings with three strikeouts. Matt Bowman led Nevada with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate. Hawai‘i now moves on to play Saturday at 3 p.m. against Fresno State.
No. 3 Fresno State defeated No. 1 San Jose State 6-3 in day two's second game. Fresno State advances to play No. 5 Hawai‘i at 3 p.m. on Saturday, while San Jose State will play at 11 a.m. against the loser of the No. 2 Louisiana Tech vs. No. 4 New Mexico State game. Tom Medonca led the Bulldogs with three hits and a pair of RBI with a home run. Gavin Hedstrom also had three hits on the day. Derek Benny was credited with the win on the mound after going 9.0 innings with three strikeouts, his third complete game of the season.
No. 4 New Mexico State defeated No. 2 Louisiana Tech 6-5 in the nightcap. NM State moves on to face the winner of the San Jose State vs. LA Tech. Mike Sodders and Kyle Decater led the Aggies with two hits and two RBI each. Tyler Sturdevant picked up the win on the mound for the Aggies, going 7.0 innings with five strikeouts while allowing three earned runs. Devon Dageford led LA Tech with three hits, including a home run and four RBI.
Day 1 Results
No. 1 San Jose State defeated No. 6 Nevada 5-3 in the first game of the 2009 NAPA Auto Parts WAC Baseball Tournament. SJSU's Kyle Bellows led the Spartans at the plate with three hits, including a pair of home runs. Ryan Shopshire picked up the win on the mound for the Spartans, going 7.2 innings with six strikeouts. Westley Moss and Brett Hart each had two hits for the Wolf Pack. San Jose State now faces the loser of game three between Fresno State and New Mexico State. Nevada will face the loser of tonight's game between Hawai‘i and Louisiana Tech.
New Mexico State's Steven Anderson hit a three-run homer with the game tied at 4-4 to lead the Aggies to a 7-4 win in the day's second game. NM State moves on to face the winner of the LA Tech-Hawai‘i game, while Fresno State takes on #1 San Jose State at 3 p.m. Nate Shaver led the Aggies with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate with one run scored. Richard Stout also helped with two runs on the day for NM State. Scott Coffman picked up the win on the mound for the Aggies, working 1.1 innings with a pair of strikeouts. Danny Muno led Fresno State with a 3-for-4 performance at the the plate with one run scored and one RBI.
Louisiana Tech's Clint Ewing hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Bulldogs a 4-3 win over tournament host Hawai‘i in day one's final game. LA Tech advances to play No. 4 New Mexico State at 7 p.m. on Friday. Hawai‘i will play No. 6 Nevada at 11 a.m. on Friday. Kevin Winn led the Bulldogs with a 3-for-4 performance at the plate. Mike Anderson was credited with his seventh win of the season.
