Gabrielli Named Executive Producer of WAC's New Digital Network
Gabrielli will assume his new duties in mid-August with the launch of the new network later in the month. The WAC Digital Network is a national network dedicated exclusively to Western Athletic Conference programming. Original content and both live and on-demand regular season and WAC championship events will be available online via computers, smartphones, tablets and televisions.
In his new role, Gabrielli, a St. John’s University graduate, is responsible for all of the WAC’s studio and event production. The network will produce approximately 275 live events annually, including basketball games from the conference’s eight institutions. Gabrielli will also oversee all studio shows produced at the WAC office’s production facility now under plans in Denver.
“The WAC is very fortunate to have attracted someone as talented and experienced as Robby Gabrielli,” said Hurd. “From his live production knowledge to his original content creation and editing expertise, I believe that Gabrielli will take our network and create a high quality experience for our alumni and fans.”
“I'm very excited to join the Western Athletic Conference as we launch the WAC Digital Network,” said Gabrielli. “We plan to showcase our member schools' athletics programs and the great effort of our student-athletes through a variety of both on- and off-the-field productions. We will work tirelessly to create the most compelling broadcast quality programming while adhering to our conference’s pledge to ‘Learn, Compete, and Inspire’.”
Gabrielli comes to the WAC Digital Network with 10 years of production, programming and management experience. Prior to joining the WAC Digital Network, Gabrielli spent the past two years as a producer with the Phoenix Suns following three years as a producer with Altitude Sports & Entertainment in Denver, Colo. In both of those positions, Gabrielli produced live programming along with pregame, postgame and weekly shows.
