NSCAATV To Carry Two WAC Men's Soccer Matches
The Wolverines and Minutemen will take to Clyde Field in Orem at 7:30 p.m. MT on Aug. 30 with the match being showcased on NSCAATV.com. The online broadcast will be the first to air on the online channel during the 2014 season and will stream the first-ever men's soccer match at Utah Valley around the globe.
"The NSCAA is the world's largest coaching organization and it's a tremendous honor for our inaugural match to be broadcast nationally through NSCAATV," said UVU head coach Greg Maas. "It's a historic moment for UVU athletics, and soccer here in Utah, and I know our match vs. UMass will be very exciting and entertaining."
Following UVU's NSCAATV debut on Aug. 30, the Western Athletic Conference will again be thrust into the NSCAA spotlight when Bakersfield and San Jose State square off in a WAC match on Oct. 4.
"We are delighted to host a nationally televised game with the NSCAA. I'm especially pleased as its our WAC home opening match," said Bakersfield head coach Richie Grant. "It's great for our seniors to have an opportunity to participate in the excitement of a nationally televised game. Our campus and soccer community will guarantee our great experience for everyone involved."
Following the creation of NSCAATV in July of 2013, the NSCAA College Soccer Special is in its second year of broadcasts -- a package that is expected to include up to 20 NCAA Division I soccer games as well as matches from the DII, DIII, and NAIA ranks. This year's preliminary schedule features 15 games -- 10 men's matches and five women's - including a handful of appearances from programs that finished inside the final NCSAA/Continental Tire Top 25 rankings from a year ago.
The NSCAATV online channel features original programming, live streams and broadcasts of games at every level, and other content highlighting soccer throughout the country.
