Courtesy: WAC
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Seattle U and Northern Arizona each had teams that were honored by the NCAA for earning Public Recognition Awards, based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rate. These awards are given each year to teams with APRs in the top 10 percent in each sport.

Seattle U's men's cross country, men's indoor track & field and men's outdoor track & field teams along with Northern Arizona's 2014 WAC champion women's swimming & diving team all finished in the top 10 percent for the 2012-13 season.  Seattle U's men's cross country and Northern Arizona's women's swimming & diving team each posted perfect scores of 1000.

The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship.  The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance. The most recent APR scores are based on a multi-year rate that averages scores from the most recent four-year period, encompassing the 2009-10, 20-10-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years.

The NCAA national office also announced the 2012-13 NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) data, as part of the annual NCAA Division I Academic Performance Program (APP).  The searchable database can be found here.
