Texas State's Puisite Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

San Marcos, Texas – (TXST Media Relations) Texas State women’s golfer Krista Puisite received her second Academic award in the past month on Wednesday. She was named to the Capital One Academic All-American Second Team. This comes just a few weeks after being named to the District 7 NCAA Division I team.

Krista finished as one of the top players in the nation leader in birdies with 119, and finished 12th in scoring average at 72.36. At the NCAA East Regional she was just three shots off qualifying for the NCAA Finals in Georgia. She finished tied for 18th at even-par.

Krista won a Texas State season-record three tournaments this year, and a career-record of five during her time in San Marcos.

Academically, Puisite owns a 3.91 GPA in finance and has received the Texas State Oak Farms Dairy Award and the Oak Farms' "Cream of the Crop Award" all four years during her academic career for having above a 3.5 GPA in each semester.

Among other awards she has received include: WGCA Honorable Mention All-American, First-Team All-WAC and Golfweek Honorable Mention All-American.
