SJSU's Boczova Ends Season at NCAA Tournament

CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, Ill. - San Jose State's Klaudia Boczova fell in the first-round of the Women's NCAA Tennis Tournament, hosted by the University of Illinois. Boczova the No. 54 ranked singles player in the nation fell to No. 60 Stephanie Wagner, 6-1, 4-6, 4-6. 

Boczova started strong winning the first set in seven games. She then got out to a 3-1 lead in the second set before Wagner mounted a comeback. Boczova had a chance to close out the match twice, but Wagner broke serve and went on to win the set over Boczova, 4-6, to even the match. 

Boczova was unable to regain the momentum in the third set. Wagner jumped out to a 4-0 lead before clinching the final set, 4-6. 

Boczova helped the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament this season with their victory over the University of Denver in the championship match of the WAC Tournament. On the season Boczova, the WAC Women's Player of the Year, finished with a 16-3 singles record playing in the No. 1 position.
