DENVER – Texas State’s Courtney Harris and San Jose State’s Amanda Pridmore have been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for April 29-May 5. This is the first-ever honor for Harris and the fifth of the season and sixth of her career for Pridmore.

Harris, a sophomore third baseman from Round Rock, Texas, hit .625 with two doubles, one home run and five RBI as the Bobcats went 2-1 at Utah State last week. She also posted a 1.250 slugging percentage and a .727 on-base percentage over the three games. In the series opener, she hit a two-run homer in the first inning and finished with one walk and two runs scored. In game two, Harris went 2-for-3 with one RBI, one walk and one run scored. In the regular-season finale, Harris drove in both of the Bobcats’ runs on a pair of doubles. Harris tallied at least one hit and one RBI in all three games. She also did not record a single strikeout for the second straight series.

Pridmore, a senior from Modesto, Calif., pitched every inning of all three games last weekend against New Mexico State, leading the Spartans to the series sweep over the previously first-place Aggies, which gave San Jose State its first-ever WAC regular-season title and the top seed in the WAC Tournament. She went 3-0 with a 1.27 ERA and 19 strikeouts over 22 innings. During the series, Pridmore became San Jose State’s career wins leader (70), single-season wins leader (26) and single-season strikeout leader (238).
