Three WAC Softball Players Named Academic All-District

Three WAC softball players have been voted to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District teams.

Louisiana Tech's Erin Kipp, New Mexico State's Amber Olive and Seattle U's Allegra Wilde were each named to the first team in their respective districts and now advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. That team will be announced on May 23.

Kipp, a senior designated player from Bullard, Texas, boasts a 3.82 GPA as a biology major. She leads the WAC in doubles (13), ranks eighth in batting average (.344) and tied for ninth in stolen bases (11).

A senior outfielder from Simi Valley, Calif., Olive has a 3.88 GPA in communication studies. She leads the WAC in hits (71) and runs (39), is tied for first in triples (5), ranks second in batting average (.403), third in total bases (91), tied for fifth in stolen bases (15), eighth in slugging percentage (.517) and ninth in on-base percentage (.436).

Wilde, a senior infielder from Kennewick, Wash., has a 3.81 GPA as a biology major. She ranks second in the WAC in assists (114) and fifth in fielding double plays (11).

In order to be eligible for Academic All-District and All-America honors, a player must have completed at least one academic year, must be a starter or significant reserve, must have a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and must have completed at least one full academic year at her institution. Voting is done by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
