Idaho Vandals 
University of Idaho track and field will host the Vandal Jamboree at the Dan O’Brian Track & Field Complex on Friday and Saturday ... Idaho will also send a partial group of competitors to Eugene, Ore., for Oregon Twilight on Friday ... Idaho re-wrote the record books for a third time this season when senior Ugis Svazs fired off a career-best toss of 240-7 (73.34m) in the men’s javelin throw ... the Vandals posted 11 individual wins at the meet and hit multiple personal-best marks ... at the unveiling of the brand new facility last year, the Vandals claimed eight victories and posted six all-time top-10 entries.

Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
Louisiana Tech’s women’s track and field team finished second out of 15 teams while the men’s program finished fourth overall as Tech competed at the Bobcat Classic to wrap up the 2013 regular season late Saturday ... the two teams combined to set 15 personal record marks in the meet ... Tech’s women scored 17 points in the meet and were edged by Texas State by two points while the men’s team scored 10 points ... Paul Sakit ran an impressive personal record time of 3:47.36 in the 1,500m run ... Kim Francis was also impressive with a non-wind-aided time of 13.18 in the 100m hurdles as she placed second.

New Mexico State Aggies
The New Mexico State University track and field team concluded its final regular season meet of the outdoor track and field season with the Bobcat Classic ... in the 100m, junior Alishia Perkins finished sixth overall with a time of 11.86 ... in the 200m Perkins and junior Brianna Cromartie finished eighth and ninth respectively ... in the 400m Aldredge finished fourth overall with a time of 52.61, which set a new record in the conference and a new overall school record ... the Aggies have the week off before the Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships in Arlington, Texas, which are scheduled for May 8-11.

Seattle University Redhawks
Two school records, both for the Seattle University men’s track and field team, highlighted the Redhawks’ participation at the Oregon State University High Performance Meet Friday evening at the Whyte Track and Field Center ... Shaddye Melu became the first Seattle U athlete to clear at least two meters in the high jump during the outdoor track and field season, winning the event after clearing 2.05 meters (6’ 8.75”) ... he also won his heat of the 200 meter dash ... the other school record came in the men’s 1500 meter run, as Collin Overbay lowered his own standard by one-and-a-half seconds ... Hannah Mittelstaedt finished fifth in the 1,500m with a time of 4:38.33 ... the Seattle University track and field team will participate in the Ken Shannon Invitational at the University of Washington next Saturday, May 4.

University of Texas at Arlington Mavericks 
A pair of Mavericks picked up individual wins as UT Arlington closed its regular season Saturday at the Track-It Buster Invitational ... Ashly Wright highlighted the day by setting a meet record in the 800 meters (2:07.33) ... it It was the third-fastest time in school history and the fastest mark in the WAC this season ... Heath Skelton picked up his first career victory with a throw of 155-02 (47.29m) in the discus ... UTA will next host the Western Athletic Conference Championship May 8-11.

UTSA Roadrunners
Roscoe Robinson continues to lead the WAC standings in the long jump and he ranks ninth on the national leaderboard (25-9 ¼/7.85m) … the Roadrunners currently reside atop the league rankings in two other events (Kerry Thompson, high jump/1,600m relay) … Joshua Smith ranks second in the conference in the 400m hurdles (51.44) and that is good for 20th in the country ... Whitney Flannel was named WAC Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday after moving to the top of the league’s high jump standings (5-9 ¼/1.76m) at last Saturday’s Bobcats Classic … her second victory in as many weeks pushed the Roadrunners’ gold medal count to 17 this spring … Ernestine Cray also owns a conference-leading measurement of 42-2 ¾ (12.87m) the triple jump and that ranks 21st nationally … Zaquita McClanahan broke the program’s 19-year-old shot put record last weekend with a measurement of 50-0 (15.24m) ... UTSA is off this weekend and it will compete at the WAC Championships from May 8-11 in Arlington.

Texas State Bobcats
Texas State returned home this weekend after two meets on the road, and the Bobcats performed like they were as comfortable as ever at their home facilities, winning seven events outright as well as hitting a number of personal records on senior recognition day, tuning up for the Western Athletic Conference meet May 8-11 ... Texas State Timothy Young set a personal record and moved to the top of the WAC in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.90 ... he finished second overall, but first among collegiate athletes in the event ... Sandra Venegas set a school record in the 5,000-meter run for the third time this season ... she finished first with a time of 16:46.30 ... the Bobcats will next be in action at the WAC Championship meet May 8-11 in Arlington.

Utah State Aggies
Utah State men’s track and field freshman runner Briton Page won the Lon Spurrier men’s 800m race with a time of 1:49.56 at the University of California hosted Brutus Hamilton Invitational ... it is his fourth-straight sub 1:50.00 effort this season as he ranks 20th in the nation for the event ... USU’s women had 14 top-six finishes, including sophomore Chari Hawkins who placed second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.09, second in the high jump with a height of 1.69m (5-06.50) and fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.64m (18-06.00) ... USU track and field will take a week off to prepare for the 2013 WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by UT Arlington, May 8-11.

The 2013 WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships travels to Arlington, Texas. This year’s championships will be hosted UT Arlington and will take place at Maverick Stadium beginning Mar. 8 and running through Mar. 11. The Idaho men and Utah State women claimed the championships last year.
