WAC Menís Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Announced
DENVER – Utah State’s Briton Page and Texas State’s Logan Cunningham were named the Western Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the week of April 8-14.
Page, a freshman from Centerville, Utah (Viewmont H.S.), ran to a second-place finish in the 800m at the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge hosted by Sacramento State. His time of 1:49.44 places him atop the WAC standings just ahead of Tyrone Jackson of Texas State. Page’s time is also tied for 10th in the West and tied for 24th in the nation, as well as being the fourth-fastest time in school history.
Cunningham, a senior from Smithson Valley, Texas (Smithson Valley H.S.), finished first with his highest jump of the outdoor season in the pole vault, leaping to a height of 5.37m (17-7.25). His vault marks the top height in the WAC and ranks him 15th nationally.
Other track nominees included: Idaho senior Kyle Tylor and Seattle U redshirt senior Zach Stanfield.
Other field nominees included: Idaho junior Kyle Rothwell, Seattle U redshirt senior Dylan Burnett, UT Arlington junior Brandon Waller, UTSA senior Roscoe Robinson and Utah State sophomore Travis Johnson.
