SAN MARCOS, Texas – (TXST Media Relations) The Texas State baseball team posted a 3-0 victory over Baylor on Tuesday night to earn its first victory against Bears since March 1, 2011  and the Bobcats' first triumph over Baylor in San Marcos since March 22, 2005.

Andrew Stumph put the Bobcats ahead in the the bottom of the first inning with a RBI single and Cody Lovejoy gave Texas State some breathing room with his first career home run, a two-run shot, to put the Bobcats up, 3-0, in the bottom of the third inning and they never looked back.

Seattle, Wash. - (SU Media Relations) Seattle University received early offense and solid pitching to establish its lead, and then overcame a rough patch late in the game to pull away with a 10-4 victory over the Washington Huskies Tuesday night in a non-conference collegiate baseball game at Husky Ballpark.

Seattle U took the early lead in the second inning as Sean Narby (Auburn, Wash.) and Ryan Somers (Sammamish, Wash.) led off with back-to-back singles. With one out, Landon Cray (Chimacum, Wash.) launched a ball over the right field wall, his third home run of the season, to give the Redhawks a 3-0 lead.

DALLAS, Texas--(DBU Media Relations) The Dallas Baptist Patriots (20-17) stepped away from Western Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night to host Stephen F. Austin (19-17) and fell to the Lumberjacks, 8-3. The Patriot offense managed ten hits off SFA pitching while five different DBU pitchers surrendered fourteen on the night, six of which went for extra bases. The struggle for the Patriots was their two for eight mark with men in scoring position and three for twelve with men on base. Drew Smith (0-1) was handed the loss in his first career start while Cameron Gann (3-4) picked up the win for SFA.

Louisiana Tech 3, Northwestern State 1

NATCHITOCHES, La. - (LT Media Relations) The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs capitalized on five defensive errors by the Demons to defeat in-state foe Northwestern State, 3-1, Tuesday night at Brown-Stroud Field in Natchitoches, La.

With the midweek victory, Tech (13-24) snapped a five-game losing streak and have now won five of the last six games over the Demons of Northwestern State (11-26) and lead the all-time series 86-60.

"I told the guys that it does not matter if it was pretty or ugly, and it was pretty ugly tonight, but we won," head coach Wade Simoneaux said. "This might be something that can give us a spark. Our guys continue to play hard. I thought we pitched extremely well on the road after two tough road trips. Our guys needed to see some success tonight, and we had it."

TCU 11, UT Arlington 4

ARLINGTON, Texas – (UTA Media Relations) A seven-run fourth inning doomed the Mavericks as UT Arlington fell 11-4 Tuesday night to TCU at Clay Gould Ballpark.

The Mavericks (20-16) had its four-game winning streak came to an end with its second loss to TCU (17-20) this season. The teams combined for 10 runs in the fourth inning, seven from the Horned Frogs and three from UTA. TCU added another three in the eighth off of a home run.

The Mavs return to action on Friday when they travel to Seattle U for a Western Athletic Conference series.
