DALLAS, TX--Duncan McAlpine went 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored and three RBI to lead Dallas Baptist to a 6-3 conference win over Sacramento State Friday at Horner Ballpark in Dallas.

Cy Sneed led the Patriots on the mound, going 6.1 innings with five strikeouts. Sneed gave up only three runs. Michael Smith came in releif to pitch 2.2 innings with three strikeouts without giving up a run to secure the win.

SAN MARCOS, Texas – (TXST Media Relations) Seattle outhit Texas State Friday, 14-7, but the Bobcats were more efficient en route to seven runs to win the second game of the series, 7-5, and improve to 4-1 in the Western Athletic Conference.
The young Bobcats had a big day for Texas State. Sophomore Colby Targun hit his second home run in as many days as part of a five-run fourth inning for the Bobcats. He finished 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBI and two runs while freshman J.D. Stinnett and sophomore Cody Lovejoy each tallied two hits. Lovejoy knocked two RBI in the process.

UT Arlington 7, Louisiana Tech 1

RUSTON, Louisiana – (UTA Media Relations) UT Arlington got to one of the best pitchers in the Western Athletic Conference and beat Louisiana Tech 7-1 Friday night to open a three-game series at Pat Patterson Park.

The Mavericks (13-12) have won their last three WAC games to improve to 3-1 in the conference. As impressive as the winning streak is the outing against Bulldogs starter Phil Maton, who came into the series second in the WAC with a 1.14 ERA.

San Antonio, Texas – (SJSU Media Relations) Three multi-run innings helped San Jose State to an 11-7 victory in Western Athletic Conference action at UTSA on Friday.

After letting a 3-0 lead slip away, the Spartans (9-18, 3-2 WAC) strung together for straight scoring innings to regain the lead and take the second game in a row from the Roadrunners (15-12, 1-4 WAC).

CSU Bakersfield 4, New Mexico State 0

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.— (CSUB Media Relations) Cael Brockmeyer (Jr., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) went 3-for-4 with three RBI’s and three runs scored to lead CSU Bakersfield (19-8, 4-1 WAC) past New Mexico State (14-14, 1-4 WAC) 13-2 Friday night. The game was called after seven innings due to the WAC’s 10-run mercy rule.

Kyle Phillips two-out RBI single in the top of the second gave the Aggies an opening lead. The Roadrunners exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the frame with Bakersfield. CSUB sent 13 batters to the plate, recording six hits. New Mexico State scored in the top of the fourth, but the Roadrunners responded with three in the bottom of the frame.
