WAC Tennis Players of the Week Announced
Kosanke, a freshman from Bellevue, Wash. (Bellevue H.S.), did not lose a set all weekend, sweeping his singles match 6-0, 6-0 and his doubles match 8-0. He earned his fifth singles win of the year, the most singles wins on the squad. Before Sunday’s win at No. 2 singles, Kosanke had not won a match higher than No. 3 singles. His other four wins off the year all came in the third singles position. Sunday’s doubles match was the first time Kosanke and Ian Clare had played competitive matches together. Kosanke’s play Sunday helped lead the Redhawks to their first win of the season.
A freshman from Warsaw, Poland (Edward Dembowski H.S. No. 48), won all four doubles and singles matches in the four conference games played in three days at the Spartan Tennis Complex in San Jose, Calif. Nalborska did not drop a single set in singles. She improved her singles record to 6-1 on the season with wins at the three wins at the No. 2 singles position and one at the No. 3 spot. The doubles tandem of Nalborska and Starkova is 7-0 this season.
