New Mexico State to Face Saint Louis in NCAA Tournament

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - (NMSU Media Relations) After winning its second consecutive WAC Tournament Championship, the New Mexico State men's basketball team meets No. 16 Saint Louis in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Thursday, March 21 in San Jose, Calif., at the HP Pavilion.
The Aggies are a No. 13 seed (24-10, 14-4 WAC) in the Midwest Regional, while the Billikens are a No. 4 seed (27-6, 13-3 Atlantic 10). NM State is making its 20th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history after winning back-to-back WAC Tournament titles following a 64-55 win over UT Arlington, March 16.
Saint Louis enters the tournament after winning the A-10 Championship with a 62-56 victory over No. 25 VCU, March 17. Thursday's meeting is the seventh in school history with the Billikens leading the all-time series, 4-2, but the programs haven't met since the 1974-75 season.
