DENVER – Louisiana Tech’s Amanda Krueger and UT Arlington’s Teri Lyles have been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 25-March 3. This is the first-ever honor for both.

Krueger, a senior second baseman from Warren, Ore., led the Lady Techsters to a 4-1 record at the Northwestern State Demons Classic. She hit .500 with a .938 slugging percentage and a .579 on-base percentage and six RBI on the week. Krueger had eight hits in 16 at bats, including four extra base hits. Krueger had three multi-RBI games and her two-run homer against UL-Monroe proved to be the difference in the Lady Techsters’ 10-9 win on Saturday. Krueger also drew three walks and only struck out once while also going 4-for-4 in stolen bases.

Lyles, a senior from Keller, Texas, pitched three complete games, including a no-hitter, and struck out 14 last week. In a win over Lamar, she allowed two runs, only one of which was earned, while striking out five. Against Creighton, she threw her first career no-hitter, fanning seven.
