The University of Denver women's tennis team defeated to Colorado Friday, 4-3 ... the Pioneers battled Colorado in all three doubles matches but Colorado won two of three to take the 1-0 lead before starting singles play ... Sophia Bergner defeated Colorado's Julyette Steur 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (5) in No. 1 singles ... Caroline Schnell beat Dhany Quevedo 5-7, 7-1, 7-5 in No. 2 singles ... Emma Isberg claimed a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Winde Janssens and Steffi Rath defeated Ashley Tiefel 6-2, 6-4 ... Denver's next match is Friday, Feb. 22 when they host New Mexico.

IDAHO (2-5, 0-0)
A come-from-behind 6-4 second-set victory by Beatriz Flores gave the Idaho women's tennis team a 4-3 win over Nevada ... Idaho improves to 2-5 on the season with the win ... Idaho won the doubles point after Belen Barcenilla and Victoria Lozano got an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles, and Flores and Alejandra Lozano won 8-6 at No. 3 ... Idaho returns to action on Feb. 23 when it takes on Gonzaga and LCSC in Lewiston, Idaho.

The Louisiana Tech tennis team returned to the courts on Sunday afternoon, but dropped a 6-1 decision in their first road match of the season to Stephen F. Austin at the Schlief Tennis Complex ... the doubles pairs remained the same for the third consecutive match for LA Tech (1-2) and first-year head coach Freddy Gomez ... Alena Erofeyeva and Sophie Heldoorn lost 8-4 to SFA's Margot de Haan and Laura Servise in the first concluded match of the day ... Melanie Urvoy took the first set, 6-3 in her first match of the season in the No. 2 spot against the Ladyjacks Julia Lorca, but Lorca rebounded to win the last two sets 6-2, 6-2 ...  the lone point for the Lady Techsters came when Manoela Chiacchio's opponent retired due to injury ... LA Tech stays on the road in the Lone Star State when they go up against Houston on Friday, Feb. 22.

The NM State women's tennis team went 1-2 in the opening weekend of the 2013 spring season ... the Aggies fell 7-0 to host UNLV on Saturday morning before coming back for a 5-2 win over Weber State later in the day ... NM State struggled to keep the momentum of the win as the team fell 5-2 to Pacific on Sunday afternoon ... the Aggies take a week off before heading to the West Coast for three days of dual competition ... NM State faces Cal State Fullerton on Feb. 22, and then continues on a California route against UC Irvine and Cal State Northridge.

SAN JOSE STATE (7-2, 0-0)
The San Jose State University women's tennis team fell to No. 29 Arizona State University, 7-0, in a non-conference dual match ... the only win for the Spartans came at No. 2 doubles ... Klaudia Boczova and Jessica Willett defeated Joanna Smith and Ebony Panoho, 8-3 ... on Friday the Spartans had three wins in singles play and took the doubles point for a 4-3 victory over No. 58 UNLV ... Boczova, ranked No. 58 nationally in singles,  Julianna Bacelar and Jessica Willett won in singles play for the Spartans ... Boczova posted her second win over a top-30 ranked opponent in seven days ... she stopped No. 19 Aleksandra Josifoska in straight sets 6-4,6-2 ... the Spartans play again on Sunday, February, 24 as they travel to Stockton, Calif. to go up against the University of the Pacific.

SEATTLE U (3-4, 0-0) 
The Redhawks' next two matches will be home matches ... they host in-state rival Eastern Washington Saturday, Feb. 23 then take on North Dakota Monday March 11 ... SU will have just one other home match the rest of the year, an April 19 tilt against Washington State ... the squad has won three of its last five matches, including a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Weber State, Feb. 2 ... the Redhawks' most successful singles player in dual competition is Lindsey Newman at 5-2 while two doubles pairs ­­­­­­­­- Newman and Bagriella Weissmann and Corinne Wurden and Kristen James  - both have dual records of 4-3.

TEXAS STATE (3-2, 1-0)
Texas State won its inaugural WAC match with a 5-2 victory over UTSA ... Texas State captured the team doubles point when Jessica Kahts and Melissa Hadad won the No. 1 match and Gabriela Rojas and Monica Pieratt won the No. 2 match ... Texas State clinched the team victory when Rachel Baldree won her No. 3 match over Shichkova by the score of 6-4, 6-3 ... on Saturday Texas state dropped its match 4-3 against Northwestern State ... Texas State tied the team score 3-3 when Jessica Kahts won a hard-fought decision over Konop in the No. 1 match ... the Bobcats will play their next match on Feb. 23 when Texas State plays host to SMU. 

UT ARLINGTON (1-2, 0-0)
The UT Arlington women defeated Air Force 4-3 Sunday afternoon ... the Mavericks picked up their first win of the season improving to 1-2 overall ... UTA started strong winning the doubles point heading into singles competition up 1-0 ... the Mavs took the first two singles before Air Force went on a run to get three points and tie the match, but UTA was able to pull through and finished the match 4-3 ... The women are back on the court Saturday, Feb. 23 as the Mavs take on the Cowgrils of No. 32 Oklahoma State.

UTSA (4-2, 0-1)
The Roadrunners netted a 2-1 record last week ... UTSA started the week with a 6-1 win over Incarnate Word, but fell to Texas State, 5-2, in the WAC opener two days later ... the Birds capped the week with a 4-3 comeback win over Northwestern State last Sunday ... Isabelle Jonsson provided the clinching point at No. 2 doubles in the win over the Lady Demons. 
UTAH STATE (1-2, 0-0)
Utah State women’s tennis is scheduled to host Weber State Wednesday, Feb. 20 ... play is set to begin at 12 p.m. ... the Aggies are this spring 1-2 , while the Wildcats are 2-7 ... the Aggies are led by sophomore McKenzie Davis and senior Jaci West ... Davis is currently 3-0 at the No. 1 singles position, and West is 2-1 at the No. 2 singles spot ... Davis and West team up for 1-1 record at the No. 1 doubles spot ... other players to watch include senior Kristina Voytsekhovich, who is currently sitting at 1-2 in singles action and 0-2 overall in doubles play.
