LOGAN, Utah - (USU Media Relations) Junior center Jarred Shaw had 16 points and 12 rebounds for his second career double-double and Utah State used a 12-2 run during the final five minutes of the game to post a 65-55 home win against in-state rival Weber State Saturday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. In all, there were 24 lead changes and the game was tied 16 times during the night.

With the win, Utah State improves to 3-1 on the season and 29-1 at home against in-state opponents under 15th-year head coach Stew Morrill as the Aggies have now won 27-straight home games against teams from the Beehive State.

UT Arlington 65, Samford 58

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –(UTA Media Relations)  UT Arlington took control with a 20-1 first-half run and downed Samford 65-58 Saturday night at the Pete Hanna Center. The Mavericks improved to 2-1 on the season, with both wins coming on the road.

Senior forward Kevin Butler paced UTA with 15 points in his first start this season. Senior center Jordan Reves added 14 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Jamel Outler had 11 points off the bench, nine coming in the second half.

Louisiana Tech 68, Louisiana-Monroe 52

RUSTON -(LTU Media Relations)  A 21-0 run in the second half and a 23-point performance by guard Cordarius Johnson sparked a 68-52 victory for Louisiana Tech (5-1) over I-20 neighbor Louisiana-Monroe (0-2) Saturday night inside the Thomas Assembly Center.

The victory was the fifth straight for the Bulldogs on the early season and also the fifth straight over the Warhawks to increase the all-time series lead over ULM in the fifth oldest rivalry, 51-36.

Texas State 81, UC Riverside 69

Anchorage, Alaska – (Texas State Media Relations) Four Bobcats scored in double figures, as Texas State (3-3) defeated UC Riverside, 81-69. Corey Stern led the Cats with a career-high 17 points in Texas State's final game of the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout.

Matt Staff added 16 points, while Reid Koenen had 12 points. Vonn Jones rounded out the Bobcats' top scorers with 10 points and seven assists.
