COACHES: UTSA’s Larry Coker is in his second season with the Roadrunners and is 9-6.  Overall, he is 69-21 in eight years as a head coach.  Rice’s David Bailiff is in his sixth season with the Owls and is 24-43.  Overall, he is 45-58 in nine years as a head coach.

SERIES LOOK: San Jose State leads the series 20-13-1.  Utah State has won the last three games including last year in Logan, 34-33.  San Jose State’s last win came in 2008, 30-7, at home.
COACHES: Utah State’s Gary Andersen is in his fourth season with the Aggies and is 19-24.  San Jose State’s Mike MacIntyre is in his third season with the Spartans and is 10-20.
GAME NOTES: Utah State – has won five straight WAC games, including three in a row on the road ... its start is the best for the Aggies since going 5-2 in 1982 ... has won nine of its last 12 games with the three losses coming by a combined six points ... has outscored its opponents 54-0 in the first quarter of games this year.  San Jose State – has a four-game winning streak and has won three straight at home ... has not won five games in a row since 1990 ... has held its opponents to a WAC-best 33 points in the second half of games this year ... has allowed just 87 points in its five games, the fewest at this point in the season since 1990 (80) ... COACHES: Idaho’s Robb Akey is in his sixth year with the Vandals and is 20-48.  Texas State’s Dennis Franchione is in his fourth season with the Bobcats and is 21-18.  Overall, he is 195-110-2 in 27 years as a head coach.
GAME NOTES: Idaho – has lost five straight road games ... plays three of its next four on the road ... leads the WAC in opponent fourth-down conversions allowing just 3-of-9 attempts ... Trey Farquhar leads the WAC in both field goals (10) and attempts (11) ... COACHES: Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin is in his first year with the Aggies.  Overall, he is 39-18 in five years as a head coach after spending the last four at Houston.  Louisiana Tech’s Sonny Dykes is in his third season with the Bulldogs and is 18-12.
GAME NOTES: The game was scheduled for August 30 but was postponed due to Hurricane Isaac.  Texas A&M – played at Mississippi last week and won 30-27 ... Ben Malena rushed for 142 yards and a TD ... has won four straight after an opening-season loss against Florida ... leads the nation in net punting.  Louisiana Tech – has won 12 straight regular season games, the longest such streak in the nation ... has had 12 scoring drives of one minute or less this year ...
