Texas State's Puisite Wins Tournament

Lansing, Mich. - Krista Puisite shot a final round 73, to finish 1-under for the week and capture her second career individual title, Sunday at the Michigan State Invitational. It marks the third straight year, Puisite has had a share of the title after 54 holes. She won her first championship in a playoff in 2011 at the Claud Jacobs Invitational and lost in a playoff last year.

Puisite's victory makes her the second Bobcat to capture an individual title this season. Valdis Jonsdottir earned co-medalist honors at the Chris Banister Classic to open the year, a tournament Texas State won as a team.

As a team, Texas State finished fourth. The Bobcats had a final round 297, their lowest of the tournament. Jonsdottir tied Puisite's low round of the day, also finishing with a 1-over, 73. She ended the three rounds tied for 29th. Iman Nordin also placed inside the top-25, placing 22nd.

Texas State will now have a month off, before returning to action at the OU Invitaitonal, Oct. 15, in Norman, Okla.
