The Schertz, Texas native averaged 4.25 kills and a WAC-best 5.00 digs per set in a road win at Houston that gave the Roadrunners their best start since 1988. Adams posted her fifth double-double of the season with 17 kills and 20 digs against the Cougars. She leads UTSA with 3.66 kills per set and ranks second on the team with 3.72 digs per set.
Other nominees included: Denver’s Faimie Kingsley averaged 2.73 kills and 1.27 blocks per set as the Pioneers went 3-0 on the week ... Allison Baker of Idaho was named to the all-tournament team at the Verizon Challenge after averaging 4.36 kills and 2.27 digs over three matches ... New Mexico State’s Meredith Hays was named to the all-tournament team at the Rams Classic after averaging 4.45 kills and 2.09 digs over the three matches ... Michaela Leonard of San Jose State posted three double-doubles and was named to the Boise State Invitational all-tournament team after averaging 9.79 assists and 2.79 digs per set ... UT Arlington’s Taylor Gross earned all-tournament team honors at the Hilton Classic after averaging 3.29 kills and 0.86 blocks per set ... Alexandra Simms of Texas State was named to the SMU Invitational all-tournament team and averaged 3.33 kills and 0.67 digs per set in four matches last week ... Utah State’s Shay Sorensen averaged 3.33 kills, 1.70 digs and 1.50 blocks per set as the Aggies went 0-2 at the Kansas State Invitational.
