For the fourth time in five years, the Pioneers defeated in-state rival Colorado, this time by a count of 4-1 in front of 1,202 fans on Friday evening at CIBER Field at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Denver got goals from sophomore defender Sam Harder (Centennial, Colo.), junior midfielder Nicholette DiGiacomo (Golden, Colo.), junior forward Kristen Hamilton (Littleton, Colo.) and sophomore midfielder Anna Willis (Centennial, Colo.) on its way to its third-straight win.

RUSTON, La. - (Louisiana Tech Media Relations) With the temperatures reaching the upper 90s, the Louisiana Tech soccer team used 20 players to beat the extreme heat and also take the victory over UALR 1-0 this afternoon at the Lady Techster Soccer Complex. Tech rebounded from last Sunday's loss to Jacksonville State and improved their record to 5-1-1 on the year while UALR dropped to 0-6-0. Many of the young players got to see action early as nine of the starting 11 were freshman. The team was able to maintain possession and put pressure in the box but never got any clean looks at the goal. Almost an entire roster substitution followed soon after a scheduled water break midway through the first period in order to keep the players hydrated.

HILLSBORO, Ore. - (Utah State Media Relations) Sophomore forward Jade Tarver's goal in the 85th minute gave the Utah State soccer team a 1-0 win over Eastern Washington Friday at the Viking Classic in Hillsboro, Ore. The Aggies improve to 5-1-1 this season and have won two-straight matches. The Eagles fall to 0-4-1 this season with the loss. In the first half, Utah State had control of the ball the majority of the first 45 minutes, out-shooting Eastern Washington, 9-2, in the first stanza. Despite the offensive power, the Aggies were not able to find the back of the net. Eagle netminder Nathalie Schwery collected five saves in the first half. USU senior Ashlyn Mulford, who played all 90 minutes, had two first-half saves.

In the second half, the Bobcats outshot the Chippewas 6-4. Gabbi Cottee had one of the best plays of the night, just 30 seconds into the second half. Cottee dribbled through the upper third, and ripped a shot towards the goal, but it deflected off the cross bar and was cleared out by the CMU defense

"Give credit to Nevada," Spartans head coach Jeff Leightman said. "I think they came to play, and they played good soccer. Tonight, we did not play as well as we can. We showed moments where we were dangerous, but if we are not going to play at our best, we are going to leave opponents in the game."
