OREM, Utah - (Utah State Media Relations) After going the first five matches without a point, junior midfielder Kendra Pemberton broke out big as Utah State captured a 2-1 overtime win against Utah Valley at Clyde Field on Sunday. "We set some definite goals for ourselves for this game that we had hoped to achieve, things that would help us be better than we were on Friday. One of those goals was to connect more passes in the attacking third and I thought that we did a fairly good job of that after the first 10 minutes; we really settled down and were able to stick to that goal," USU head coach Heather Cairns said.

SEATTLE, Wash. - (Texas State Media Relations) Seattle University women's soccer, playing host to Portland State, remained in a draw up until the final 15 minutes of the match, when a goal by Stephanie Verdoia (Salt Lake City, Utah) lifted the Redhawks to the 1-0 victory. This was Seattle U's third straight home win this season.  "I was really pleased with our second half," said head coach Julie Woodward. "In the first half, I thought we were outplayed a little bit. At halftime, we gave them some tactical things that we wanted them to change, and I think they did a great job of that. I'm really happy about this win, because Portland State is a good team, and I feel like it was hard-fought and well-earned. It was a great service by Melissa [Busque] and a great finish by Stephanie Verdoia. So, I credit the win mostly to the great second half we had."

BOISE, Idaho - (Idaho Media Relations) Head coach Peter Showler saw the intensity, the mindset and the possession that he wanted from University of Idaho women's soccer on Sunday, but not the result in a 3-2 double-overtime loss to Montana. "It was night and day from Friday," Showler said of the game, compared to Friday's 2-0 loss to Idaho State. "It's a cruel game sometimes, because we deserved something out of that. It was a great team effort and they worked together, but they just didn't get what they deserved today."
