Fresno State to Face San Diego in the NCAA Tournament

No. 36 Fresno State will represent the WAC in the 2012 NCAA Men's Tennis Team Championships as announced by the NCAA today.

The Bulldogs (20-4) will head to the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles, where they will face No. 27 San Diego (17-9) in the first round.

The first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament will be held on May 11-13. The Bulldogs will be playing at the Los Angeles Tennis Center along with No. 4 seed UCLA (22-3), who faces Eastern Kentucky (19-9) in the first round. 

Last year, the ‘Dogs were paired against No. 19 Minnesota in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and secured a 4-2 victory. For the second year in a row the team advanced into the second round of the NCAA Tournament, but fell there to No. 15 California. The Bulldogs have not made it past the second round of the tournament since 1999 when they defeated USC.

The winner of each first- and second-round site advances to the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships May 18-28 at the Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., hosted by Georgia.
