DENVER - Hawai'i running back Alex Green, Fresno State linebacker Travis Brown and Louisiana Tech return specialist Phillip Livas were named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference offensive, defensive and special teams players of the week, respectively.

Green, a senior from Portland, Ore. (Butte Community College), rushed for a school-record 327 yards and three touchdowns on just 19 carries in Hawai'i's 59-24 win at New Mexico State. His average of 17.21 yards per carry is the best of any player in the nation this season. He eclipsed the Warriors' 60-year-old mark of 270 yards in less than three quarters of action and became the first Hawai'i running back to surpass 1,000 yards in a season since 1992. He had two runs of over 50 yards including a career-best of 71 in the second quarter. His 327 yards also ties for the third most in a game in WAC history.

Brown, a sophomore from Fresno, Calif. (Clovis West HS), made five tackles and intercepted a pass for a touchdown in Fresno State's 23-20 win over Idaho. The interception occurred in the third quarter with Fresno State holding a slim 6-0 lead. He returned the pick 33 yards for the score and also broke up another pass. Fresno State held Idaho to 210 total yards in the game including negative five yards in the first half.

Livas, a senior from Houma, La. (South Terrebonne HS), returned a punt a career-long 88 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter of Louisiana Tech's 45-38 win at San Jose State. It was his eighth career return (kick or punt) for a touchdown, tying an NCAA record set by five others.
