Kellen Moore Included on Walter Camp Football Foundation 2009 Player of the Year Watch List

BOISE, Idaho - Kellen Moore was named to his second preseason watch list this week when it was announced today (Aug. 7) he's joined 29 other collegiate players on the Walter Camp Football Foundation 2009 Player of the Year Watch List.

Earlier this week (Aug. 5 - Wednesday) Moore was named to the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Year Watch List.

A sophomore from Prosser, Washington, Moore helped lead the Broncos to a 12-1 record last year, the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championship and an appearance in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.  He finished his rookie season completing 281 of 405 passes for 3,486 yards, 25 touchdowns and an efficiency rating of 157.12 to lead the WAC.

Moore was named the WAC Freshman of the Year in 200, and was named to the Football Writers Association of America's Freshman All-America team.  He also received second team freshman All-America honors from the Sporting News.

The player of the year recipient is voted on by the 119 NCAA Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors.  The winner will be announced on December 10 (Thursday) at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.  The winner will receive his trophy at the Foundation's annual national award banquet on January 18, 2010 (Sunday) at Yale University.

Boise State, ranked No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches' preseason poll, opens its 2009 season on September 3 (Thursday) at home against the University of Oregon.  Kickoff against the 14th ranked Ducks is 8:15 p.m. (MT) with the game being broadcast by ESPN.
