2013 Postseason WAC Honorees

Championship: Seattle U 3, Kansas City 0
Kansas City held WAC regular season champion Seattle U scoreless through nearly 30 minutes of play, but the Redhawks emerged victorious as the WAC Tournament Champions with a 3-0 victory. With the win, women’s soccer becomes Seattle U’s first overall team to qualify for the NCAA Tournament since reclassifying back to Division I and SU’s first ever women’s soccer team to advance to the NCAA Tournament. Extending their current winning streak to 15 games, this is the Redhawks’ 11th shutout of 2013, marking the third 3-0 shutout vs. UMKC for SU this season.

Taylor Bare scored two goals to lead Kansas City to a 2-0 win over Utah Valley Friday in the WAC Women's Soccer Tournament semifinals. With the win, UMKC advances to Sunday's championship match to face Seattle U. Bare led the Kangaroos with four shots on the day, including three on goal. Ellie Chadick and Lauren Zach each recorded an assist on the day. Bare's two goals on the day gives her a WAC-leading 15 on the season. Nina Tzianos led the 'Roos with the shutout in goal. Tzianos recorded four saves to record her eighth shutout of the season. 

Seminfial #1: Seattle U 6, Idaho 1
Top-seeded Seattle University women’s soccer scored early and often as they defeated No. 4 Idaho in the Western Athletic Conference tournament semifinals. The 6-1 victory tied for Seattle U’s largest win of the season, as they extended their current winning streak to 14 games. This was the third match in eight days between the Redhawks and the Vandals, as Seattle U won the final two regular season matches last weekend, 3-0 in Seattle on Nov. 1 and 3-1 in Moscow on Nov. 3.
