WAC Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – Idaho’s Alycia Butterworth and Grand Canyon’s Lauren Graham have been named the Western Athletic Conference women’s track and field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for April 14-20.

Butterworth, a senior from Parksvillie, B.C., Canada (Ballenas Secondary), placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Mt. Sac Relays. Butterworth’s career-best time of 10:14.26 leads the WAC, ranks fourth in the NCCA West Region and 14th in the NCAA. Her time also ranks second-best all-time in the 3k steeplechase in Idaho history.

Graham, a senior from Palmdale, Calif. (UC Colorado Springs), placed fifth in her section of the pole vault at the Mt. SAC Relays, clearing a height of 4.00 meters. Graham’s height is tied for the highest mark posted in the conference this season in the vault and would be tied for 21st in the NCAA West Region if Grand Canyon was eligible for the NCAA postseason.
