Denver's Martin Paired with Georgia at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - (DU Media Relations) University of Denver sophomore Moriah Martin (Lake Mary, Fla.) was paired with the University of Georgia Gym Dogs for the 2012 NCAA Championships on April 20, the NCAA announced along with the other 11 pairings on Monday.

Martin and the Gym Dogs will compete in the second session of the Championships, beginning at 4 p.m. MT. The pairing's rotation order will be Bars-Beam-Bye-Floor-Vault-Bye.

In the Champaign Regional, Martin finished with a 39.200 in the All-Around, largely in-part to a 9.850 Vault in her final routine of the competition.

This will be Martin's first appearance at the NCAA Championships. The sophomore finished the regular season 13th in the All-Around (39.400), 10th on Vault (9.915) and 40th on Floor (9.865). Denver has sent at least one individual to the NCAA Championships in each of the last 13 seasons.

About the NCAA Championships

The NCAA Championships consist of 12 teams, 12 All-Around competitors (who are not on a qualifying team) and individual event specialists.  The top-two teams and the top-two all-arounders from each of the six regionals received automatic berths to the Championships.
