DENVER – Fresno State’s Hali Coppin and Nevada’s Jennie Pleas have been named the Western Athletic Conference Co-Golfers of the Week for March 31-April 6.
Both players competed in the NCAA Western Regional Preview in Lincoln, Calif. at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club, March 31-April 1, and finished in a tie for 11th place, the highest finish by any of the 15 WAC golfers playing in the tournament.
Coppin, a sophomore from Loomis, Calif. (Del Oro HS), turned in her best performance of her career with a 6-over par 222 (75-74-73) at the tournament. Her score helped Fresno State to a third place finish in the 19-team field.
Pleas, a senior from Lihue, Hawaii (Kauai HS), also shot a 6-over par 222 (74-75-73), notching her best finish of the year. The one-over 73 in the final round matched her career-best while her three-round total was a career-best for a tournament.
