San Jose-After not winning a collegiate tournament in 35 tries, Cristina Corpus has now won back-to-back tournaments as she shot a 74 in the third round of the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational to win the individual title by two shots.  The Spartans shot a 308 on Tuesday to finish third behind California and UC Davis.

Corpus finished the tournament with a 217, two shots ahead of Demi Runas of UC Davis who finished at 219.  After shooting three-over on the front nine, Corpus birdied the 10th hole and shot par the rest of the tournament.

Katrina Delen-Briones recorded another top-10 finish this year as she finished tied for seventh at 225.  Madeleine Ziegert tied for 26th at 231, while Jody Ho and Shraddanjali Singh tied for 38th at 234.  Playing as individuals, Kim Punyasavatsut was 45th, while Kanika Minocha finished 76th.

As a team, the Spartans shot a 308 to finish two shots behind second-place UC Davis and four shots behind winner California.

"I think this was a good learning experience for our team and only helps us get better as we go farther into our season," said San Jose State head coach John Dormann.  "I am really happy for Cristina winning today.  She is playing very good right now, and her hard work over the past four years is really paying off in her play."
